Habitat Staff

  • There’s been so much excitement from the Wells County community, and the need for affordable housing continues to grow. With Rick stepping into this new role, we’re eager to connect with local partners as we prepare to build in Wells County during the 2026-27 season.

A Wells County Native

Rick is no stranger to the Wells County area or Habitat’s mission. Born and (mostly) raised in Wells County, he graduated from Norwell High School and later earned a degree in Christian Education from Huntington University. After more than 40 years in ministry, he joined Habitat in 2024 as a Construction Site Manager, gaining hands-on experience while walking alongside Future Habitat Homeowners as they completed their sweat equity hours on the jobsite.

Rick and his wife, Lori, have been married for 40 years and have four children and five of the best grandkids you could ever ask for. They attend Hope Missionary Church in Bluffton and share their home with Rudy, their lovable dachshund—”you just can’t not love him!”

  • This kind of hands-on ministry is unlike any I’ve been involved with before. It’s been amazing this past year to hear the stories and testimonies of many of our Future Homeowners. Seeing how God is working in their lives in our community never ceases to amaze me. I’m excited to continue walking alongside new families and helping connect the community to the hope and transformational power of affordable homeownership.
