The majority of our Huntington County builds have been located in the town of Huntington. Families interested in applying for the Homeownership Program who have lived or worked in Huntington County for at least a year can visit our Become a Homeowner page for more information.
We’re very excited to be back in Huntington County for the 2024-25 Build Season. Each season, we’ll build two affordable homes in Huntington for hardworking Habitat Partner Families from Huntington County.
Having this home built in my hometown of Huntington is really special to me. This town has helped made me, me. Habitat truly takes families’ dreams and makes them a reality. Home security, a home for our kids to grow up in is truly special, thank you all.

Shiann and Derek are parents to two energetic children and before becoming homeowners they shared a home with family members with one bathroom for six people.
As someone who doesn’t typically push herself out of her comfort zone, Shiann is so thankful and proud that she applied for the Habitat program. Not only will their new home give them more space to spread out as a family, but it will also create equity and increase their financial security.

Joseph was a gunner in the military for many years before being discharged due to an injury he sustained while on duty. Despite his physical disabilities, Joseph is always pushing himself to help others, even before helping himself. He’s excited to prove to himself and his family that you can overcome obstacles and good things come to good people. In his new home, Joseph plans to train therapy and service animals for fellow veterans.
