Embrace the festive season with a soul-stirring performance of “Worthy – A Christmas Cantata”. This racial unity Christmas concert engages volunteer singers from diverse racial and faith backgrounds to celebrate the holiday season through the unifying power of music and raise money for a great cause.
“Worthy-A Christmas Cantata,” is an original musical composition by Chicago-based recording artist and music educator, Lana Manson. “Worthy” presents the story of the birth of Jesus through diverse musical styles including opera, traditional Gospel, smooth jazz, rap, and more.
Since December 2022, this program has invited singers and guests to celebrate the spirit of Christmas and the power of music to unite communities across racial differences. This new Fort Wayne tradition is produced by Chicago native, Stephen Styles, a racial conciliation and justice advocate who moved with his family to Fort Wayne in January 2021.
“I first came to Fort Wayne in September 2020. I was on a consulting contract to provide training and leadership support to a local company following the murder of Mr. George Floyd. I later joined the firm and have developed a deep love for the city of Fort Wayne. My vision with this cantata and related programs is to help unify our communities across diverse racial identities and faith traditions. I hope folks will sign up to sing with us and make new friends in the city that they may not otherwise come to know.”
