Serving Huntington Families

This season, we’re building two more homes in Huntington, Indiana for two amazing families in the Habitat Homeownership Program. With the help of the Huntington community, we’re looking forward to what the future will continue to bring as we strive to serve families in need of affordable housing.

Families interested in applying for the Homeownership Program who have lived or worked in Huntington County for at least a year can visit our Become a Homeowner page for more information.

Cooper Family

Cooper Family

As a family of six, the Coopers are looking forward to their new Habitat home — a place with more space for their children and a yard to play in. “We’re most excited about the feeling of accomplishment in knowing our living expenses are going towards something that is ours versus renting. This home will provide us with security and stability, a place to finally call our home.”

The Coopers enjoy hiking, hosting family movie nights, playing basketball together, and enjoying the festivals in Huntington. “We all work together to be a family— this home will help us continue to build and grow together.”

  • “This home is everything. My girls can’t wait to finally invite their friends over for sleepovers.”

    Jadee

    Future Homeowner

Jadee, Huntington Partner Family

Meet Jadee

As a single mom to four children, a Habitat home to Jadee means safety and security. She shared through tears that being a single parent is hard, but not having a roof over your kids’ heads is harder. Fortunately, Jadee has “a small village” surrounding her that has helped provide a place for her and her girls to stay while she’s working to complete the Habitat Homeownership Program.

Jadee was born and raised in Huntington and has worked at the same organization for 10 years. She is gainfully employed, has a strong work ethic, and loves her family, but Jadee needed an opportunity for affordable housing. Through Habitat GFW and the support of the Huntington community, she is seizing the opportunity to become a sustainable homeowner. “I’m learning about budgets, managing money, and how to be a successful homeowner. I’m tremendously grateful for what everyone is doing for us, thank you.”
