Congratulations Equatia + Marissa!
We had the honor of celebrating with two new Habitat Homeowners in January, Equatia and Marissa. We are so proud of these amazing women and all they have achieved.
Equatia joined the homeownership program in 2023 and has consistently worked through her sweat equity hours, homeowner readiness and financial education classes — all while working full time in her 3rd shift job and raising her son. When Equatia came in at 8am for her one-on-one meetings with Habitat staff, she was just getting off a long shift at work. She is a testament to hard work, perseverance, and patience — when you chip away at your goal every day you will realize your dreams.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed to help build our home. It’s been a blessing to actually be a part of building our home; I got to be there for most of the exterior work and it was really exciting. Thank you all for being a part of our little family and helping us become homeowners!”
Marissa joined our homeownership program in early 2024, and in less than a year, she completed all 200 sweat equity hours and 8 homeowner readiness & financial education classes! As a single mom and business owner, her determination and hard work have inspired our team. We couldn’t be more excited for Marissa and her daughter as they begin this new chapter in their new home.

ReStore Your Passion
ReStore Your Passion 2025 has officially begun! Our event committee joined this year’s Goddess Contractors and their teams for a VIP night at the Fort Wayne Habitat ReStore. Each team chose items to refurbish and auction off at this year’s fundraising event. We can’t wait to see how they bring each piece back to life.

NEW! Recycling Bins Available
Want to get involved with Habitat by recycling aluminum cans? Request a 50 gal. cardboard bin from us to contain those cans until you can drop them off at a nearby shed.
