Nick Buchanan
Chief Operating Officer
Nick Buchanan joined Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne as COO in February 2026. Before joining the Habitat team, he served as a missionary in the Dominican Republic, about an hour from the Haitian border. During that time, he worked in both construction and medical ministry, hosting and leading mission teams from across North America. Prior to his missionary work, Nick spent many years in the construction industry as a self-employed contractor—a trade he’s been part of since the age of twelve.
Nick was drawn to Habitat because of the people we serve. He believes Habitat’s work brings hope to families and neighborhoods in a way that reflects the love and hope of Christ.
A proud Fort Wayne native and Snider High School graduate, Nick has been active in local ministry for many years. He has volunteered with Youth for Christ at the Allen County Juvenile Center and continues to serve in prison ministry programs across Indiana, mentoring men and sharing Christ’s love.
When not at Habitat, Nick enjoys crappie fishing and traveling the country on his Harley-Davidson; he’s ridden through 17 states so far, with a goal of reaching 49. Nick is also a proud father to his daughter, Carson, and son, Colin.
