thank you from Dontia
Hello, my name is Dontia Porter. I’m a single mother of two children. I work in healthcare as a QMA/CNA, and my son and daughter both graduated from New Haven School, one in 2025 and the other this year, 2026. We welcomed an American Bully, Simba, into our home this January.
This program for me is helping hold me accountable to get things done and also someone I can call on when needed for help. The Habitat Homeownership Program helps you stay on track and provides mentoring through everyday life issues as well.
I love my relationship with my Habitat advocate, Kandace; she’s been so helpful and full of resources. Everyone I’ve met so far in the program has been so nice and supportive.
Thank you for giving me and my family this opportunity; we’re very much looking forward to our new home!
With gratitude,
Dontia Porter
