A Foundation for the Future

India is a hardworking mom of five, who works two jobs, and is the founder of M.O.M Inc, a local nonprofit that helps neighbors in need. She has spent her life giving to others, and had a goal to own a home by the time she was 40.

India’s Story

India moved to Fort Wayne from out of state in search of family support. Unfortunately, she found that she would need to build both community and stability for herself and her children on her own.

Through her roles as a medical assistant at IU Health and an advocate at YWCA, and through launching her own nonprofit, M.O.M. Inc, to serve neighbors in need, India began creating the very support system she had been searching for. It was through this journey that she also found Habitat’s Homeownership Program, where her determination, combined with community support, helped turn her goal of homeownership into reality.
