The Habitat corporate office moved down the street, meet our new COO, and more happenings at Habitat GFW this February.
Two New Habitat Homeowners
It’s been a wonderful month at Habitat! We celebrated home dedications with two new homeowners, Cara and LaDasia.
Cara’s new home will allow her to pursue her dream of becoming a mom! She’ll be applying to become a foster mom and she hopes to support siblings in the foster care system.
LaDasia is a super mom to two young boys, and not only did she complete the Habitat Homeownership Program, but she also just finished college this month!

40 years ago…
In 1986, we broke ground on the first Fort Wayne Habitat home for Future Homeowner, Cecilia Thomas. In 2009, she fully paid off her house and celebrated with a mortgage burning.
We recently had a chance to catch up with Cecilia, and she shared that she is still thriving in her home today.
“Habitat provided stability and a foundation for me and my three girls. Two of my daughters graduated from college, I have three grandbabies now, and all my girls are doing well.”
What’s New
New Can Sheds Coming Soon
A few students from Smith Academy for Excellence painted two new can sheds built by our friends from St. Vincent de Paul Carpenters’ Society. Their efforts are helping us grow our aluminum recycling program throughout Greater Fort Wayne. New shed locations will be announced soon!
Congratulations, Chris + Mike!
Two of our Construction Site Managers are stepping into manager roles to support our construction team as we grow. Chris Leeth was named Construction Manager, and Mike Snavley is our new Repair Program Manager.
